We have already started taking steps to improve our processes and be more aware of our impact on the environment this year. One of the steps we have taken is to introduce the use of more recyclable packaging.

WHAT'S NEW?

We have recently invested in a new Geami WrapPak M EDGE machine from Rampak to make our packing process more environmentally friendly. Having this new equipment has significantly reduced the amount of bubble wrap that we would usually use and provides a sustainable, biodegradable, and recyclable alternative to traditional bubble.

On top of the introduction of the new packaging machine, we have also switched to using paper tape which is also 100% recyclable.

You can rest assured that no matter what you are due to receive, whether it be patterns or composite components, it will be wrapped safely in our new recyclable packaging and delivered with care by our team.

BENEFITS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The Geami WrapPak M EDGE is a combination of a die-cut kraft paper with a tissue interleaf paper. The design of the machine allows it to expand the die-cut paper into a 3D honeycomb structure, forming a unique, recyclable packaging material. Not only is the material recyclable, the machine is also manually operated so no electricity is needed!

Using more sustainable materials helps to:

  • reduce our carbon footprint, as making things from recycled materials requires less energy than making them from raw materials
  • reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill
  • reduce the need to grow, harvest and extract new raw materials from the Earth
  • and so much more!

MANAGING DIRECTOR, NEIL WALKER, SAID:

"Here at Penta, we understand the importance of being aware of and educated about the climate crisis and how our everyday actions as individuals and businesses can affect it. There are things, big and small, that we can all do to reduce our carbon footprint.

The switch to new recyclable packaging is a small step that we have taken towards a much bigger plan to ensure that we're doing everything we can as a business to reduce our impact on the environment.

We already use solar panels at the factory which allows us to generate a percentage of the energy we use ourselves, from renewable sources, and therefore reduce the amount that we need to import from the national grid.

All of the actions we are taking as a business are to ensure we do our bit to build a healthier planet and a better future."
